Christmas decoration ~

Uni life just keep getting busier and busier, today its two weeks before hand in and I find myself feeling a little bit robotic. I just work, eat, sleep. Then get up to work some more. Still, somewhere inside that robotic girl there is passion. Maybe a bit frustration, but definitely lots of real passion.

Because why else would I accept drowning in this work?

But due to a lot of work and little time to look around and appreciate, it is hard to find that Christmas feeling and atmosphere. So I insisted on buying a pre-lit christmas tree rising 90 cm over the ground. I really insisted. And I got my wish and some red christmas bulbs and golden glitter! It has its charm where its standing in the living room greeting me good morning every morning when I eat my breakfast. Love it!

Firework from last saturday, finally had time/remembered to edit and upload them:) I have to stop forgetting that I have a blog and that I have something to share. Today I’ve been telling myself “work for 4 hours, get an hour to blog!” It worked, so I have to keep doing that.

Today we are making home-made sushi for dinner, can't wait!

Coffee at Starbucks

I have for several days now forgotten my camera at home every single time I have gone out of the house. But today I finally remembered it. So much have been going on the last couple if days, yet so much haven’t happened. Or so it feels. We have actually had a minor leak in the house, but to our defense, the main damage was done before we got here. And they had started to repair it, just weren’t finished when we moved in. So the last couple of days we had several visits by the landlord, whom I have missed every day. We also had visit by the middle man, the guy who fixes everything around here, and yesterday we had two electricians here.

It's nice to know that everything is being checked and fixed.

Most of the last days have gone to shopping at the way to huge supermarket, and cleaning around the house. A lot of main cleaning still need to be done. But both yesterday and today we have been running round in town. I’ll do an update about all that tomorrow. Because I am planning on going to bed soon. I have had my head in “Fifty Shades of Grey” by E.L. James all after noon. I am way to hooked on that book. For now; Look at that huge coffee cup I got for only 17NOK (£1.7)at Starbucks. In Norway we would pay around 60NOK(£6) for that amount of coffee. I love Starbucks, I love living in UK~!

p.s. as things starts to settle I’ll hopefully update more frequent!

Arriving in the UK~!

Since I finally have internet connection, I’m going to try to blog some before it disappears again. Just to share some pictures and some thoughts on it all! Traveling to the airport in Trondheim I met up with one of the girls I’m going to live with, and then we met the other two at Copenhagen. And I must say, it has been really nice to travel as a group. Photo above is from the flight to Birmingham, when I woke up and couldn’t quite get where I was.

Same with the one below. It just doesn’t look like the UK at all, so in my tired state I got worried I had slept past the landing in Birmingham. But then I fell a sleep again and later woke up looking at english country sides, with fields and golf courses! When we got closet to landing to Birmingham it finally it me:

This is going to be my home for a year!

So lovely and idyllic~!

When we finally landed at the airport all I managed to say was “Oh my gosh, oh my gosh”. I think all four of us was pretty ecstatic and ready! Yes, strangely enough I feel so ready for this! The airport was a bit scary tho, large empty halls, a pass port scanner that didn’t work, plus we had no clue where we were going! After some stumbling and wondering we saw the very obvious signs leading us to the train station.

Or rather, to the unmanned mini train taking us to the train station. There we took the lift up and down several times before finally arriving at the right platform. And getting on the train was pretty stressing and difficult. The cabins where certainly not made for people with huge suitcases.

Oh yes, regular black coffee at Starbucks!

When we got of the train we got on a maxi-taxi who drove us the short way to our hotel. And guess what, we only paid £3 for it! After checking in we decided to go out and eat something. Not knowing where anything was it took a while, but we settled for a restaurant serving fish & chips. This was for someone breakfast, dinner or supper. For me it was the last one. Afterwards we went to Starbucks which we had localized earlier and bought coffee~

After that we tried to find the university of Wolverhampton. which was surprisingly near our hotel! So weird to think that I am going attend here. I think we sat on a bench drinking coffee, looking at the building and trying to realize that we were finally here.

After that we went back to the hotel, where I blacked out due to head ache and tiredness. When I woke up, I and my roommate decided to get some food from a local shop to have some for tonight and breakfast for tomorrow. We bought a lot and only paid around £3-4! In Norway we would have paid at least £10/100NOK!

Right now I’m just enjoying being on the net. I am trying to understand that I am finally here. It has not dawned on my yet!

Before leaving~

So this is the end of a period and a start of another one for this blog. Because tomorrow morning, or night to Tuesday, I’m starting my route towards the UK. I am very glad that everything is more or less ready, and that I can sit here without being totally stressed. Of course I’m a bit stressed, I’m going to study in a foreign country.

Hence why I think how I run this blog is going to change a bit.

Because life in the UK is going to be totally new for me and I want to share it with you. It’s going to be an exciting journey, but also a hard-working school year. But I have promised myself to blog more efficiently with quality. No quick fixes any more. Life, honesty and interests. And honestly, I have no idea what so ever how life is going to be in Wolverhampton, so I have no idea how much spare time I’ll have. All I know for sure is that I want to keep friends, family and other curious beings updated.

So,right now I am M are making dinner. He’s going to work from 16PM to 22PM. Because I am going to leave here around 4AM  I have decided to try to get some sleep while he’s gone. My suitcase has been packed, but I am going to re-pack it at least one time. Or twice. Or a thousand times.
